InTouch logo for Rowlett Chamber of Commerce

As a Rowlett Chamber Ambassador, I am involved on a daily basis in the Rowlett business community. In such, I see a lot of businesses that are in need of streamlining their marketing processes to keep up with today's technology. One of the more recent endeavors for the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce was to integrate an email campaign software to replace the paper copy version that was in place for years. Marketing Specific, Inc. was asked to create a masthead that would represent the online newsletter. Hence, the InTouch logo was born.

The concept for this project was to create a bold icon that was recognizable and would support a technology feel. Some other personal criteria was to incorporate an earth-friendly color scheme. The blue represents water or clarity and the green represents earth. The blue marble represents water or unity. Water is a significant part of the Rowlett culture since the majority of the community is nestled on the banks of Lake Ray Hubbard, a Dallas water tributary. Notice the subtle touching of the letters in the word "Touch". The mouse icon, or hand icon, is a common mark. In the case of this logo it works well as a representative of technology for today.

Purple Ranch at Union Valley Fall Festival

Last weekend we took Purple Ranch on tour to Union Valley, a small Texas town located in Hunt County. We met some truly fascinating people. Yvonne Brown with KHYI 95.3 radio, Michael Squires, owner of Squire Haven Bengals and Tommie Ledford a wonderful artist creating incredible paintings using a wide assortment of medium but my favorites were her watercolors. The above wood carving was incredible. The artist was commissioned to carve this eagle out of a live oak tree. The detail he accomplished using a chainsaw as his brush and wood as his canvas was something you would just have to see. As usual we had a great time and the weather could not have been more beautiful.

Purple_Ranch_Bee

Purple Ranch Lavender Farm is always trying to stay on top of technology and how it can help us tell our story. We are finishing this season of harvest with great enthusiasm. This weekend we are finishing the cut of all the remaining lavender stalks. We have been busy at the Texas State Fair which has kept us really busy.

Until next time. Lavender Up!

Havesting Lavender at Purple Ranch Lavender Farm

It's harvest time at Purple Ranch Lavender Farm. The field was humming with the sounds of nature. Thousands of bees forged for pollen from the lavender blooms. Butterflies fluttered from plant to plant. It was hot but also very relaxing. Our Purple Ranch Body Mister came in handy. Wand weaving was the general past time. It was truly enjoyable under the pergola. I can't wait until we get the misters installed. We are getting ready for the Rowlett Freedom Festival. Should be a good event for us. I hope to see you out at the farm. Until next time. Lavender Up!
